He was born Oct. 15, 1957, in Bloomington, the son of Donald Joseph Malinowski and Darlene Schenk and was stepson to Judy Malinowski and Lyle Schenk.

Rick was a devoted husband, loving father, faithful Green Bay Packers fan, and motorcycle riding enthusiast. He will be greatly loved and thoroughly missed by his wife, Lisa; children, Jena Hedgecoth, Molly Coker and Nicholas Malinowski; sons-in-law, Mark Hedgecoth and Austin Coker; grandson, Oliver Hedgecoth; stepgranddaughter, Grace Hedgecoth; soon-to-be grandbaby Coker; son’s girlfriend, Julie Rose; siblings, Don Malinowski, Robert Murphy, Steve Malinowski, Teri Bittle, Robin Hodel, Christina Gorby, Jodi Nipper and their families; godchildren, Christopher Surber, Scott Plaza, Nathan Murphy and Ava Murphy; as well as many family members and friends.

You were taken too soon; you will always be loved and missed; and we can’t wait to see you again one day. Have the ride of your life.

A celebration of life service will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Mahomet Christian Church, 900 N. Lake of the Woods Road, Mahomet. The family asks that you please wear your Harley-Davidson or Green Bay Packers shirts in memory of Rick.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Rick’s name to benefit the Quincy University Football Program through The Rick Malinowski Memorial Fund at any Busey Bank.

Please join Rick’s family in sharing photos, videos and memories on his tribute wall at http://www.sunsetfuneralhome.com.
