Bloomington High School
Class of 1975

Welcome to the Bloomington High Class of 1975 web site.

William A. Myers, 61, of Normal, died at 11:35 a.m. Thursday (Oct. 4, 2018) at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

A celebration of Bill's life will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1628 W. Hovey, Normal. A visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington. Cremation rites have been accorded.

Bill was born July 31, 1957 in Bloomington, son of Gordon W. and Phillis Eileen Purcell Myers. He married Elizabeth (Betsy) Anne Shaw on December 29, 1976 at the Washington D.C. Temple in Kensington, Md. Surviving are his wife, Betsy of Normal; his children, Angela Myers and Brett Myers, both of Chicago, Amanda (Tim) Schneider of Bloomington, DesaRae (Brian) Ludolph of Morton, Ashleigh Myers and Kyle (Mandy) Myers, both of Normal, Austin Myers of Champaign, Chelsea (Wes) Hood of Bloomington and Danylle Myers of Normal; seven grandchildren; his siblings, Patricia (Randy) Miller of Morton, Rich (Cathy Kelly) Myers, Angie Dossett and Steffen (April) Myers, all of Bloomington and Kaye Holman of North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.

Bill was a 1975 graduate of Bloomington High School. He was also an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Normal and loved serving others through his various callings in the church. He worked for the Bloomington Housing Authority for over 30 years and retired in January of 2018 as the Director of Technical Services. Bill was active in the Boys & Girls Club of Bloomington-Normal, a past board member of the YMCA, past participant in Leadership McLean County, Cardinal Youth Football volunteer, BNGSA board member and coach, as well as being involved with activities for his children and grandchildren.

Bill's greatest love was to love others and serve righteously.

If you wish to donate to a cause that Bill cared deeply about, memorial contributions may be made to the family, where the funds will be used towards a memorial and support of the Boys & Girls Club of Bloomington-Normal. Bill played a key role in bringing the Boys & Girls Club to our community and loved serving there over the years.
